Overview
GEC's area of operations encompasses the southern end of the Piceance Basin, which has the potential to become an important natural gas producing area. Area residents use natural gas as an energy source and a heating source. In 2001 Delta County consumed approximately 700 million cubic feet of natural gas. Approximately 240 miles of natural gas pipeline exist in the county to deliver natural gas to residents and businesses.
GEC designed its exploration drilling program on private and federal leases to define the extent of the natural gas bearing rock and coal strata. If GEC determines the initial drilling program to be successful, additional drilling will occur. All such drilling will be accomplished with as little impact to the environment and community as possible and will be done in strict compliance with all environmental and regulatory requirements.
